We’ve all heard rumors about the famed “Locksmith Oyster Bay”: Its streets are filled with people claiming to do wondrous things, crack codes, open locks not only to material objects, but apparently, to the immaterial world as well. Some say that to get admission to this highly protected and secretive, one has to pass a series of tests before they can be given the exclusive entry to this city to train under the greatest Oyster Bay Locksmiths that the world has ever seen. Today, I will be exposing some of the deepest, darkest secrets that hold for us inOyster Bay.
The Test
“The Test” is the examination held secretly by the Locksmith Oyster Bay held every year. From a list of candidates that were handpicked, we hold a series of grueling examinations pertaining to various aspects of the candidate. Outsiders cannot apply for the examinations and it is by invitation only. One Locksmith that I spoke to commented, “The Test was the most intense thing that I’ve done in my life, it feels like the worst thing you’ve been through because it’s so tough but at the end, being a Locksmith is worth the pain.” To give us an idea on how painful and torturous “The Test” was, candidates typically had to go through 5 months of advanced preparation, which included physical training, mental training, various trials like marathon lock picking and also had to be the cream of the crop while they’re at it, because those who failed the training period were cast out. Adam Schoit, one of the candidates who had failed the training, was so distraught that he had to be sent to see a psychiatrist because he was so disappointed with himself.
The Prestige of becoming an Oyster Bay Locksmith
The training process of becoming a professional may be hard, but is the end result of becoming an “Oyster Bay Locksmith” really worth all the hard work? Out of the 120 candidates invited per year to train with the master, only the top 10 are chosen to become the next batch. This means that the success rate of becoming a professional locksmith is less than ten percent. However, the perks and prestige that comes with becoming a certified professional may outweigh the time and effort spent during training for the candidates. For example, certified locksmiths are the authorities in anything that involves something locked that needs to be cracked; they are much respected in our society today and can be considered to be upper class men. As such, they wear a secret logo so that no one that is not among them will easily recognize it. It is this secret logo that helps Commercial Locksmith in Oyster Bay identify each other or identify citizens from Oyster Bay, allowing them to confer with each other. They do not associate with anyone else outside of Oyster Bay unless it is regarding something that needs to be unlocked. They have a certain air about them.
